Every Mala kaftan is one size, but not one fit. Most styles here are cut about 68″ around the bust, waist and hips, which leaves easy room through a 3X. Camila is cut wider, 72″ to 74″, for up to 4X.

Most styles here are cut about 68 inches around and fit comfortably through a 3X. Camila is cut wider, 72 to 74 inches, and fits up to a 4X. A few pieces stop at 2X, and their product cards say so. Tap your usual size at the top of the page and you will only see what fits you.

Not right now. Camila is the roomiest kaftan we make, cut 72 to 74 inches around, which fits a bust up to about 56 inches. If you are between a 4X and a 5X, measure your fullest point and compare it to that number before you order, or write to us and we will tell you honestly whether it will work.

Try the loose top test. Lay your roomiest top flat, measure from armpit to armpit and double it. That is the number to compare. Most Mala kaftans give you about 68 inches, and Camila gives you 72 to 74. If your favorite top measures 50 inches, a Mala gives you 18 more inches of room.

Take your height in inches and subtract 14 for about ankle length, or subtract 11 to reach the floor. Lengths go up to 60 inches on most styles. Our Tall collection is filtered to the longest lengths if you want to start there.

Actual dye, actual hands. Each tie dye piece is individually folded, hand-tied, and dipped by a small community of family and friends in Thailand, so no two are exactly alike. The variation isn’t a flaw; it’s the signature of a human hand.

The fabric does the work. Rayon and double gauze drape from the shoulder and fall away from the body rather than standing out from it, and the side slits let it move when you move. If you want more shape, a thin belt at the natural waist or a loose knot at the hip changes the whole silhouette. In the words of one customer: "I was worried I'd look like a circus tent. It drapes really nicely."

Gentle machine wash cold, hang to dry; the fabric is made to last through real life.

Rayon is the softest and the most fluid, and it is the one most of our tie dye lives on. Double gauze cotton has more body, so it holds its shape away from the body and breathes beautifully in heat. Jersey cotton skims closer to the body by design, so it is the one to skip if you want volume.
