Every Mala kaftan is made by a small community of skilled artisans in Thailand: family members, neighbours, and trusted makers who have been sewing together for years. We pay fairly, work slowly, and believe that when the people making your clothes are thriving, you can feel it in every stitch.
This kaftan dyed my laundry AND tote on the first wash! IAfter having to send one back from my first shipment for damage, this second one turned my clothes pink. I’m willing to sort out one problem in DMs but when paying this much, I expect a better product. They are beautiful and comfortable, but these problems have created a lot of extra work for me and damaged my other clothes.
The quality of the garment is very good and matches the description. Colors are a little more muted than they look in the photos but that is to be expected and I actually prefer the more muted colors. They are still vibrant. The item absolutely met my expectations. The customer service is exceptional (I had hemming alterations) and the item was shipped and received quickly.
The item looks different than pictured. That’s obvious from the folded item straight out of the mailer. However the noxious smell was overwhelming. That smell is probably the dye. I had to put it back in the plastic, then the mailer, then a sturdy plastic bag. It’s now in our garage. I can’t have it in the house. It goes back ASAP.

This is the 2nd Kaftan I have ordered. This one is OK, not as flowing as the other but still nice.
We try to photograph as true to color as we can. Since all these pieces are hand-tied and dyed, each kaftan will vary slightly.
Our kaftans are one size fits most - up to 3XL with the standard being 68" around bust/waist/hips. That being said, we do offer a petite collection with slimmer silhouettes.
