Every Luna kaftan is made by a small community of skilled artisans in Thailand: family members, neighbours, and trusted makers who have been sewing together for years. We pay fairly, work slowly, and believe that when the people making your clothes are thriving, you can feel it in every stitch.
The neck opening is just a (very long) slit, so when you wear it the sides fall a little awkwardly. Otherwise lovely.

It’s very attractive and feels nice and seems to be good quality material and sewing. I’m definitely going to get more from this shop. It also arrived very fast. This one is the style where the sides are sewn together about an inch or two shy of the edge of the fabric, which I prefer for the shape it creates when worn.

We try to photograph as true to color as we can. Since all these pieces are hand-tied and dyed, each kaftan will vary slightly.
Our kaftans are one size fits most - up to 3XL with the standard being 68" around bust/waist/hips. That being said, we do offer a petite collection with slimmer silhouettes.

Not to be ghoulish, but I needed burial clothing for my partner and me for green burial. This means no plastic of any sort, even threads. I am exceedingly happy with the kaftans; they are well made and also lovely. It took quite a bit of reseach and I am SO GLAD I found Mala.
