Every Luna kaftan is made by a small community of skilled artisans in Thailand: family members, neighbours, and trusted makers who have been sewing together for years. We pay fairly, work slowly, and believe that when the people making your clothes are thriving, you can feel it in every stitch.

Wearing it right now, as I have been all summer! I buy 2-3 of these every year. I took it to a Tanglewood concert last week, dressed it up with jewelry and nice sandals and a pedicure, and looked DONE. I also throw on Crocs and get the mail with it. I've been told many times how amazing it looks. It is comfier than pj's, but sliiides off the shoulder a little bit, in a non-chalant way. The fabric and pattern are so forgiving that not wearing a bra is an option in the summer (thank you!). As long as she continues to be on Etsy, I'll continue to buy them.

I purchased this a few weeks ago for a trip to the Dominican Republic and was waiting to post my review until I had a chance to wear it. First, the kaftan is very well made and I can say only positive things about the quality. MaLa was also great about getting this shipped quickly so I’d have it in time for the trip. The kaftan packs very well and stayed relatively wrinkle free. It was not as breezy and cool as I’d hoped but still better than most alternatives… next time I might get a shorter version. I’ve since washed it on cold and hung it to dry and it came out as good as new so no issues there. I definitely recommend the store and this product.

We try to photograph as true to color as we can. Since all these pieces are hand-tied and dyed, each kaftan will vary slightly.
Our kaftans are one size fits most - up to 3XL with the standard being 68" around bust/waist/hips. That being said, we do offer a petite collection with slimmer silhouettes.

Not to be ghoulish, but I needed burial clothing for my partner and me for green burial. This means no plastic of any sort, even threads. I am exceedingly happy with the kaftans; they are well made and also lovely. It took quite a bit of reseach and I am SO GLAD I found Mala.
