Every Mala kaftan is made by a small community of skilled artisans in Thailand: family members, neighbours, and trusted makers who have been sewing together for years. We pay fairly, work slowly, and believe that when the people making your clothes are thriving, you can feel it in every stitch.
This peach colored kaftan is a real gem! This is my second kaftan from this Etsy store, and both are of excellent quality. One is 50" long and the other is 55". (I wanted to see how the longer length worked for my 5'6" frame.) For a just above ankle length, the 50" worked. The 55" was to the floor, so unless I wear heels with it, it's a tiny bit too long. (I am keeping it and will experiment by drying it on low to see if the rayon fabric will shrink some.) P.S. This rayon fabric drapes really well, flows as you move, and is wonderfully cool in the heat and humidity!

These are lovely dresses, perfect for all occasions. I’ve purchased 4 colors! They do require a slip underneath but I have no issue with that.

Gorgeous, great seller. I got a dress from the seller and it was not what I thought it would be as far as color and there was no problem, returning it and so I just chick picked out a different dress. I have one of these for almost every day of the week they’re beautiful they’re comfortable they’re unique soft everything. I would really suggest getting some espadrilles that are flat with some sort of a ethnic beautiful design. It all comes together really lovely.

We try to photograph as true to color as we can. Since all these pieces are hand-tied and dyed, each kaftan will vary slightly.
Our kaftans are one size fits most - up to 3XL with the standard being 68" around bust/waist/hips. That being said, we do offer a petite collection with slimmer silhouettes.

Not to be ghoulish, but I needed burial clothing for my partner and me for green burial. This means no plastic of any sort, even threads. I am exceedingly happy with the kaftans; they are well made and also lovely. It took quite a bit of reseach and I am SO GLAD I found Mala.
