Indigo Kaftan in Tide Bands

Broad horizontal bands running across the cloth, pale blue into deep blue and back again, every edge feathered rather than cut. The bands widen and narrow down the length so the eye keeps moving.

A hand-dyed indigo kaftan in silky rayon, dip-dyed in stages to build the banding. V-neckline, side slits, arms opening to 22 inches. At 52 inches it sweeps the floor around 5'3" and sits at the ankle around 5'6".

One size fits most up to US 3XL. First wash: soak overnight in water with 3 spoons of salt, then delicate machine wash cold and hang dry.
