The dress is cotton and is a beautiful pattern. In my opinion, it does not fit smaller size women in a flattering way. The side view is balloony looking due to the extra fabric. And the front view is billowy around the ab and hip area because the fabric is cotton and does not lay/drape flat. Voluminous fabric is a bit much for women size small-large.
