The one you reach for without thinking. A quiet off-white in textured cotton muslin, with a soft, lived-in surface that only softens further with washing. Light enough for a hot afternoon, covered enough for a cool morning, so it earns its place year round rather than sitting out half of it.
The Penelope is a slipover kaftan cut from two fine layers of cotton woven together. Light on the body, and not sheer. V-neckline, side slits, no pockets. Choose 50 or 55 inches long, measured shoulder to hem: 50 sits near the ankle, 55 falls longer, depending on your height. Wear it at home, over swimwear, or with sandals and earrings for dinner.
Relaxed one-size fit, 68 inches around at bust, waist and hips, up to US 3XL. Arms 22 inches around. First wash separately; gentle machine wash, low heat dry.

Not to be ghoulish, but I needed burial clothing for my partner and me for green burial. This means no plastic of any sort, even threads. I am exceedingly happy with the kaftans; they are well made and also lovely. It took quite a bit of reseach and I am SO GLAD I found Mala.
I absolutely love this dress! I will be ordering more! The color is so pretty and it is exactly what I expected after reading the description. The cotton gauze fabric is not too thin.
